The Stay Local Boat MA transient referral program is operated by the Massachusetts Marine Trades Association (MMTA) [boatma.com]. The program was established to encourage seasonal boaters to visit marinas at various destinations along the beautiful coastline of Massachusetts and, in return, receive a discount on dockage. Boating means business for Massachusetts, as boaters travel along the coastline; they spend money on shopping, dining, lodging, and more. For every $1 spent on dockage, nearly $4 benefits the local community.
If you are a seasonal guest at one of the participating marinas, you are eligible for a dockage discount at any of the other participating marinas. The program is also designed to encourage group travel by offering a larger discount based on the total number of boats traveling.
Founded in 1964, the MMTA is a non-profit trade association representing and supporting the recreational boating industry in Massachusetts. The economic impact of boating in Massachusetts is $5 Billion Dollars with over 1,000 businesses and approximately 18,000 employees. Please visit us at boatma.com for information on our association, including member listings, program information and the Massachusetts tide charts.
